Bible Example #6 - Psalms 59

Psalms 59:1-17	Comments
(1) (To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.) Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. (2) Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.	(1) There are people in the government who want to get me and my church.
(3) For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not [for] my transgression, nor [for] my sin, O LORD. (4) They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake to help me, and behold. (5) Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah	(3) The mighty are gathered against me. They hide in cattle trucks as they sneak up on my home, run up and kick down the doors. (4) for no guilt they come running to take up position, Wake up, stand by me and keep watch, NJB
(6) They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. (7) Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords [are] in their lips: for who, [say they], doth hear? (8) But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. (9) [Because of] his strength will I wait upon thee: for God [is] my defence. (10) The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies. (11) *Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.	( 6) The raid having failed, they come back every night with loud speakers and noise. (7) They say" come out." I fear if I do they will kill me. They say in their hearts, "who will hear?" Keeping the press and T.V. cameras back two miles, they say in their hearts, "We can do with them as we please, and tell the story as we wish."
(12) [For] the sin of their mouth [and] the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying [which] they speak. (13) Consume [them] in wrath, consume [them], that they [may] not [be]: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. (14) And at evening let them return; [and] let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.	(12) Sin is in their mouths, sin on their lips, so let them be trapped in their pride for the curses and lies that they utter. NJB "Trapped in their pride" meaning "caught in their lies"
(15) Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. (16) But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. (17) Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God [is] my defense, [and] the God of my mercy.	(15) For Koresh and the men women and little children, and infants, food, water and electric was cut off. Therefore let the families of the perpetrators go hungry. For mine eyes [are] upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.
Jeremiah 16:17-18 17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. (God says, I see you and I will punish.) (18) And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things. Luke 13:1-5 1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. (Like Waco?) 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, (like the twin towers of New York fell.) think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (By time, chance and circumstance?)	Waco v. Oklahoma city The government should not have done what it did to Koresh at Waco or Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge. And McVey should not have done what he did to the government at Oklahoma City. Nevertheless twice as many died in Oklahoma as did in Waco. Terrorism always backfires on the terrorist. No Bible hero, prophet, or Apostle ever took part in terrorism. If there had been no government mischief in Ruby Ridge and Waco, then there would have been no terrorist bombing in Oklahoma City. If our government does things like this, or if our government supports other nations who do things like this, then we citizens are likewise in danger, danger on the job, danger in the shopping center and danger in the street. Any one of us might be at the wrong place at the wrong time when a misbehaving terrorist strikes back. The solution to the problem is repentance.
