The Passover in The New Testament
8 A.D. - Joseph and Mary observe Passover and Jesus
sits in the midst of the doctors.
41 Now his parents went to
Jerusalem every year at the feast of the
passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after
the custom of the feast.
43 And when they had fulfilled
the days, (days of Unleavened Bread)
as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem;
and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's
journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem,
seeking him.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the
temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and
asking them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and
answers.----------
(Did you ever wonder why the priests did not celebrate Jesus
presence. Shouldn't they have known who he was? The babe born in a
manger 12 years earlier. The prophesied messiah. But then, just as
Pharaoh tried to kill Moses to prevent a prophesied deliverer, Herod
killed all the young children who may have been the promised
messiah
whom he had learned about from the Magi. The establishment thought
they were successful and that the prophesied messiah was dead and
gone. Why is abortion such a big deal today? Is there some possible
connection between infant Moses, infant Jesus and the Book of
Revelation? If this is new to you click on the child .)
----------
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said
unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father
and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not
that I must be about my Father's business? |
26A. D. - Christ drove the money changers out of the
temple twice. The first time in 26 A.D.; the second in 29 A.D. These
are recorded in Matthew 21:12, Mark 11:12-19 and Luke 19:45-46.

John 2
13 And the Jews'
passover* was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves,
and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all
out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the
changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make
not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
Why doesn't it just say, "And the passover was at hand"? Why
say, "the Jew's passover"? On an earlier page it was stated
that there are two passovers. And that the Jews Passover was Nisan 14
whereas Israel's passover was Abib 14. |
On both occasions, driving out the money changers was on the
10th of Abib. (That date keeps popping up doesn't it?) Perhaps we can look
forward to a modem day cleansing of the temple when Babylon the Great's
money system fails Will the modern day money changers be chased out on Abib
10? (Abib 10 is in the last week of March.)
The 'born again' conversation with Nichodemus was at
Passover time.
27 A.D. - Jesus heals the impotent man and keeps the Passover. All of
John 5.

The children of Israel were delivered from Egypt on Abib 15,
1462 B.C.
Christ delivered us from bondage to sin on Abib 15, 29 A.D.
Egypt is a symbol for bondage of sin. In Exodus 12:42 it is
called A Night To Be Much Observed.
| Abib 14 |
The killing
of the lamb. (After high noon and before sunset)
The Last Supper (Solar Calendar)
The arrest in the garden at midnight.
The morning trials before Pilate and Herod.
The High Priest takes custody of Jesus at noon. |

Jesus is
taken to the temple and tortured from noon to sunrise. (About 18
hours.)
After sunrise Jesus is taken to be crucified.
Jesus dies on the cross about noon.

| Abib 16 |
Jesus
hangs on the cross until he dies.
Jesus is placed in the tomb before the Jewish Lunar Calendar Passover
begins.
The Jewish Passover begins about 6:00 P.M. |

Different calendars have different starting times for days.
The Jews recon sunset to sunset. Modern man uses the a Gregorian Calendar
with days running from midnight to midnight. The Solar calendar observed by
Moses had a noon to noon reckoning Therefore, Nisan 14 began at sunset
of Abib 15.
Abib 15th is a Christian High Sabbath, yet is was the Jewish
preparation day.
Abib 15 memorialized the Exodus from Egypt under Moses and
the exodus from sin under Christ. That is why it is still A Night To Be
Much Observed.
Notice the pattern of days during the days of unleavened
bread in 1462 B.C. (The Exodus) and in 29 A.D. (The Crucifixion)

The weekly seventh day Sabbath occurring during the days of unleavened bread
can be on any day form the 15th to the 21st.
The interesting point is that both years the pattern was the
same.
If this pattern is of any significance we can expect great
things to happen in years such as 1984 rather than the years like 1981 or
1983.
