1 Thessalonians 4

3 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Psalm 81

1   Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2   Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3   Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4   For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

5   This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

6   I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

7   Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8   Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

9   There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10   I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11   But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12   So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13   Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14   I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15   The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

Nehemiah 8

1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.

2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.

3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

5 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:

6 And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground. (Sounds like the beginning of a church service with an opening prayer.)

7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.

12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.

13 And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law. (If they were observing a solar calendar where the day starts at noon they could have had a afternoon service and a morning service the next day. Both services would be on the same holiday.)

14 And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month: (This the feast time called Tabernacles. Day 15-23 of the seventh month. Today 'booths' are tents, a church camp ground or Convention Center Motels)

15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.

(What they learned on the Feast of Trumpets they applied later in the same month.)

16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim. (They lived temporarily everywhere but in their own homes.)

17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.

1 Thessalonians 5

1 But of the times and the seasons, (feast days) brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly (you understand the Bible Holidays) that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (Like the death angel on Passover. Is it possible that on a yet  future Passover "death angel" will come "as a thief in the night" at midnight, Abib the 14th? If so, then only those observing the Passover are safe.)

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, (Remember the instructions for the Passover? Loins girded, shoes on feet, staff in hand, indoors, outside the city.) as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, (Like ancient Israel with the blood of lamb on doorposts.) but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, (Dead or alive) we should live together with him. (Resurrected)

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
