Jesus Christ Observes Tabernacles.28 A.D. - There are two Holy Convocations during this feast. The first day and the last day. The second Holy Convocation known as The Last Great Day. The events of Tabernacles 28 A.D.:
These are the events and sermons of Jesus during the feast that year. Some of the healings may be of prophetic significance as commented on earlier. Right now a few comments about the events of that feast. John 7: 11, 'Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?" It was Jesus' custom to observe the feasts. The Jews knew this and, therefore, looked for him knowing that he was there somewhere. It may be that he was in Jerusalem only at feast time. Verse 14, Jesus gave ministers an example to follow, "Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught." Some of his sermon subjects are mentioned above. He also taught the meaning of the ceremony. One of the ceremonies of the feast was the drawing of water from the pool of Siloam. The water was poured out on the altar, in the sight of all the people. It was at this time (John 7:37-39) Christ stood and cried, "if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink". Jesus set the example of teaching the meaning of the feast days. The Woman Taken In AdulteryDuring the feast of 28 A.D. there was a woman taken in the act of adultery, she was brought before Christ. The woman may represent Israel - America, the bride of Christ. The accusers would be Gog, Magog, Gomer and all his bands. (Ezekiel 38-39) They might come against America in some future Feast of Tabernacles to "stone" America to death. They are not successful -- indicated by Christ's words. "Where are your accusers?" (The question's answer is in Isaiah 17:14, 29:7-8 and 41:11) and "Neither do I accuse you."
Healing Of The Man Born BlindAlso during the feast of 28 A.D., Christ healed a blind man. America represents the blind man of John 9:1-41. A brief look at America proves that, regarding God's Law we are 'blind as a bat.' Will it take an invasion by Gog and Magog to open our eyes? The blind man's words upon receiving his sight were, "He (Christ) is a prophet." America's words? "Christ is our King and Savior."
