Bible Law on Clothing
and
Personal Appearance
The Ten Commandments were given in Exodus 20. 1-17. (amd
repeated in Deuteronomy 5) At the end
of Exodus 20 God talks about, how to build an altar.
Exodus 20:24-26
24 An
altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy
burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all
places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless
thee.
25 And if thou wilt make
me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou
lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go
up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered
thereon.
When
designing a modern building it is sometimes necessary to design a stairway so people
can not 'accidentally' look up a woman's skirt. When it comes to clothing, does
God like to have a lot of skin showing as with modern fashions?
Have you noticed the
clothing of action heroes. The 'good guys' wear tight fitting clothing and
show much skin as possible. For
example, Wonder Woman, Superman, Bat Man, Xena Warrior Princess.
The bad guys
wear lots of lose fitting clothing. For example, in Star Wars, Lord Vader and
Emperor Palpatine.
In one scene Princess Lea
said of Emperor Palpatine, "He is so old he's ancient." In the Bible, who is
The ancient of Days'?
Daniel 7:9 I beheld
till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient
of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head
like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels
as burning fire.
Daniel 7:13 I saw in
the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the
clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Daniel 7:22 Until the Ancient
of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the
time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Movies are filled with symbolism and hidden meaning such as
Emperor Palpatine being The Ancient of Days. But Palpatine was dressed in black
rather than white.
In the movie Wizard of Oz, there were five
characters. (1 ) The Wizard, (2) Dorothy, (3) the Scare Crow,(4) the Tin Man,
(5) and the Lion. Likewise in Star Wars.

Movies are loaded with hidden Bible connections. One you see
over and over in a multitude of ways is, "The Gathering Of The Elect,"
the other is "The Casting Down".
Matthew 24:31 And he
shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather
together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Revelation 12:10 And I
heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and
the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our
brethren is cast down, which accused them
before our God day and night.
Many movies begin with a 'gathering of elect'. An example
is the old World War movie, Dirty Dozen. Twelve criminals with special
talent to do a special job. The gathering may be just one special person or
group.
The end of many movies features a casting down. The Emperor in
Star Wars, The Joker in Bat Man. The bad guy is always on top of some high
place such as a cliff or building. There is a struggle. And the bad guy gets cast down.
Isaiah 14:12 How
art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the
morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
